Sexing and Characteristics:

Rosy boas are very active and docile. Even though they are nocturnal, they do move quite often during the day.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Many substrates will work. Aspen bedding, sand, cypress mulch, pine shavings(not cedar), and newspaper works well. Rosy Boas are desert dwellers so you can put a full water bowl in the cage once a week. Make sure the rosy can’t tip the water bowl.

Lighting and UVB:

Rosies do not need any lights. Use undertank heating pads on only half of the cage.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Humidity shoul be low. You can buy one of the humidity thermometers. On the warm side of the cage it should be in the high 80’s and the cooler side the low 80’s.

Heating and Equipment:

Undertank heating pads, on half the cage.

Caging Provided:

For adults a 10 gallon cage is fine, and babies the same.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Babies should be fed pinkies, I feed mine live but frozen thawed is fine. Babies should be fed every 5-6 days. Adults eat mice once a week.

Maintenance:

Rosies are easy to care for. Just clean up after them.
