Sexing and Characteristics:

You can determine sex by cloacal probing. It is hard to judge sex by looking at ball pythons tails because ball pythons are a short tailed snake.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

I keep my ball pythons on desert substrate although I keep my female on vermiculite when she is due to give birth because vermiculite is egg friendly.

Lighting and UVB:

Nocturnal snakes such as ball pythons do not need lighting.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Keep ball pythons from around 70-80 F.
Spray cage once a day with water to keep cage humid.

Heat pad at one end of cage so the snake can thermoregulate.

They eat on pinkies when they are babies to Medium Rats when they are adults.

They need spot cleaning every day but the cage needs to be thoroughly cleaned every 2-3 months

Some Words on this Species:

This is a very good starter snake but I recommend that you look at its feeding record before purchasing one because they sometimes cannot be good feeders.
