Sexing and Characteristics:

Buddie(not sure of the sex) is 1 yrs. old. he was 3 months old when i got him and approx. 3’ long. He ate 2 mice per week until he was 10 months old, He then started eating 1 med. rat a week. He was moved into a large glass jewelry display at 11 months old. He is now 5’7" and is very active and doesn’t mind being held.

He has a large bowl of water in his cage, but doesn’t care to use it very often.

Lighting and UVB:

Lights from the living room and the sunlight are the only light he receives.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The cage is heated with the sunlight and heat from the room.

Heating and Equipment:

There is a heating pad under the cage that he lays on when he sleeps.

Caging Provided:

At 3 months old he was in a 50 gal. tank, but was moved to a large jewelry display case at 11 months old.

Carnivorous

Maintenance:

i clean his cage completely out every 2 weeks.

i would recommend the red tail boa to anyone. my wife was deathly afraid of snakes, but since buddie has become apart of our family she has found out that snakes aren’t so bad after all.
