the 3 other species in the genus antaresia(spotted python,anthill python,blotched aka stimsons python)

Sexing and Characteristics:

Probing is the only way to positively identify your snakes sex although popping can be somewhat reliable

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

I use repti bark for mine as for water put in a big enough water bowl for the snake to fit in change the water bowl daily

Lighting and UVB:

UVB is not required. i have 1 uth

Temperatures and Humidity:

Temperatures should be about 78-85 children’s pythons do not need high humidity

Heating and Equipment:

for equipment just put in something like a cave or log children’s pythons love to hide.

Caging Provided:

I have a custom built 48 by 36. all you really need for a full grown is a 20-30 gallon

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Feed appropriate sized mice. the biggest prey a children’s python can eat is an adult mouse hatchlings can eat 1 pinkie every week then upgrade to fuzzies,hoppers and so on

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Nothing is required

Maintenance:

Remove feces whenever you see it. clean the tank once a month. overall pretty easy to care for

Some Words on this Species:

Awesome beginner python but time and patience is needed to keep them tame as antaresa species are generally pretty nippy. if you want a python without the large size a children’s python is for you
