Sexing and Characteristics:

It is difficult to determine the sex of the Knob Tail Gecko until it is fully grown. You will then need to take it to a vet.The only other way tha I know of is that most of the time, females are larger than males.
The Knob Tail Geckos scientific name is Nephrurus Stellatus. They originated in Australia. They grow 4-6 inches long.Like most Geckos, they are a slightly agressive and will bite if they feel they are threatened.

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

For the substrate, you can use Bed-A-Beast or Alfa Pets wood chips.
For the water, you can use a small butter tub or buy a water dish from a petstore.

Lighting and UVB:

A UVB Light is required for the lizard to properly process and recieve vitamins and minerals. It is also necessary for the lizard to recieve vitamin D3.A Flood Light can also be used to further light up the tank.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The temperature should be 84-88 degrees and should have a basking spot where the temperature is 90-95 degrees. It should also have a cool area where the temperature is 80-84 degrees.Keep the tank humidity at a moderate level.Mist the tank twice a week.

Heating and Equipment:

Do not use heat rocks,as they can burn the lizards belly.Underground heating pads are not necessary.Be sure to have plenty of hiding spots for the gecko so that it does not overheat.

Caging Provided:

A 15-20 gallon tank is suitable for 1 gecko. For 2,a 25-30 gallon tank is good.Never house two males together,as they will fight.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

You can feed it small worms, crickets, waxworms, superworms, and other small insects.Be sure that the crickets that you feed it are smaller than the geckos head.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Dust the crickets with vitamin/calcium powder once a week.

Maintenance:

Clean the tank every 1 or 2 weeks, depending on how dirty it is.
