Sexing and Characteristics:

Males have longer tails.Female have stubby tales

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

Good substrates are repti carpet,repti bark and newspaper or paper towels.I use repti carpet which gives natural look and not dangerous.Stay away from sand.A water dish that is provided must be very big.They love to swim it should be big enough for body to submerge itself and a swim.Clean water every day.

Lighting and UVB:

Uvb can be used but not necessary.Use a lamp for light.Provide 12 to 14 hours of light daily.if u provide light the snakes is most likely to come out of hide.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Temperatures during the day should be 75 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.during the night 65 to 75 degrees.

Heating and Equipment:

Use a heating lamp or uth for heating.These should provide enough heat

Caging Provided:

For a Garter Snake, one snake needs a 20 gallon, but ribbon snake need ten gallon. I have one garter in a 20, with a big dish caves and lots of basking spots.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

You should stick to an all mouse diet. These diets are most nutritious, feed once a week with mice. The only fish to feed are rosy red and guppies. Feed worms sometimes too.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

When feeding pinkys no supplements.Everything else give vitamins once every feeding.

Maintenance:

These snakes are very easy to keep and are very cool.Most people don’t like them for they are beginner snakes.*clean tank every week.and spot clean every 2 months.Give clean substrates.
