Sexing and Characteristics:

Males a relitively smaller than females. Their throats also will turn black whem nervous, angered, etc.

Substrate and Water Needs:

For subtrates i use store bought peat moss and ESU Reptile Terrarium moss. I have a hard plastic water bowl for humidity, bathing and drinking usage. I also place live/artificial plants around the bowl so the frog will feel secure and safe. The plants can also be used for burrows.

Lighting and UVB:

For lighting i use an incasdesant lightbulb that will keep the temperature slightly above room temp, but without frying the frog.

Temperatures and Humidity:

For temp i like to keep it between 65-75 degrees Fareheit. For humidity i use reptile fog machines and spray the cage daily.

Heating and Equipment:

Equipment: Live/artificial plants, smooth river rocks, hard plastic water bowl, and assorted pieces of small driftwood.

Caging Provided:

For caging for one adult pacman frog, you can use commercialy available plastic 5 gallon terrariums or glass terraiums. NEVER HOUSE MORE THAN ONE ADULT OR JUVENILE FROG TOGETHER, THEY ARE CANNABALISTIC!!!

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

For food, i feed them pinky mice, crickets and earthworms.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I always dip my food sources in Tetra-Terrafauna calcium powder.

Maintenance:

Clean the cage weekly and clean the water bowl daily, for they will deficate in it. And since they are not good swimmers, do not have the water level in the bowl above their nostils.

Some Words on this Species:

Pacman frogs can be and interesting species to keep if taken care of and loved. They are for the begginer keeper, intermediate or advanced keeper.
