Substrate and Water Needs:

It is easier to have no substrate. The substrates only trap odor and make the cages hard to clean. They have many varitiesof gel-like waterers. If you hve shallow enough of a container you can use distilled or spring water without anything in it, i.e. sponge, etc. Or you could just fill a sponge with water.

A little bit of sun a day will keep the crickets healthier. A 60-100 watt light bulb will be good.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The temp. should be between 70-80 degrees and humidity should stay fairly low.

A 60-100 watt bulb will give enough heat. If that doesn’t work UTHs work well.

I give them a 10 gallon tank with no substrate. They climb on egg cartons and the cardboard roll when the paper towel runs out. I give them water in a shallow lid and i scatter dry dog food, apple, carrot, potato, and some greens. I sprinkle the carrot and potato with calcium powder.
