Sexing and Characteristics:
To sex emperor scorpions you need to look at their pectines (two white feathery looking objects protruding from the under side that form a "V" shape). These are larger and more feathery looking in males.
Mostly Active During:
Night
Substrate and Water Needs:
Use top soil without any pesticides or other added chemicals. Keep this moist at all times, misting once or twice daily as needed.
Lighting and UVB:
No lighting is required, but you may want to use a inferred light to raise the temperatures and overall have a healthier emperor scorpion.
Temperatures and Humidity:
75-80 Degrees Fahrenheit and 75-80% relative humidity.
Heating and Equipment:
Use a under tank heater or an inferred bulb.
Caging Provided:
Use a 10 gal. terrarium for a single emperor scorpion or a pair, a 20gal. for 3-4 emperor scorpions, and 30gal. for 5-6 emperor scorpions, or a 50gal. for 7-10 emperor scorpions.
Diet:
Carnivorous
Description of Diet:
Feed 3-5 crickets once a week.
Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:
You may dust the crickets in a calcium supplement to increase their nutritional value.
Maintenance:
Provide fresh water, clean the water dish once every week with antibacterial soap. Clean out the substrate once every four months and remove any uneaten remains of prey.
