 Care Sheet Submitted By:

FutureVet123

Years Experience:

10 to 15 Years

Species:

All of the Above(Mixes)

Other Species or Phases this Care Sheet May Cover:

Dog, dog, and more dogs! IN fact, more than one breed- we’re looking at about 2, 3, or maybe even 4! It’s you classic, loveable mutt.

Sexing and Characteristics:

It’s pretty easy to identify male from female--if you have horses, you know what to do. Basically, boys have a penis and girls...don’t! If you can’t tell for any reason, than watch your dog. If he/she squats to pee, then you’ve most likely got a girl. Boys will stand up or lean in.

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

Grass, carpet, wood(decks), pavement, and tile floors are the average areas of land covered by any dogs. Just make sure ANY dog you have gets at least 3 1/2 hours of grass beneath his paws each day, though more would be much better! Just fill her water dish with about 1/2 cup of water for smaller dogs, 2 cups for medium dogs, and a VERY minimal amount several times a day for large dogs like Labs, because bloat is a common, unfortunate factor.

Lighting and UVB:

Nope!

Temperatures and Humidity:

I’ll make it simple: Short haired dogs can usually stand the heat a little better-but small dogs are prone to pneumonia and heat stroke because of their tiny systems. This is not true of all dogs, though. Some shaggy-haired dogs were bred from their descendants to beat the heat! If you have a small dog under 15 pounds, I recommend buying a sweater for long or short winter outings!

Heating and Equipment:

Your pet will be happy with a few(okay, maybe more) basic and advanced supplies, like:
1. A kennel, OUTDOOR run, outside playpen, or access to a fenced- in yard
2. Collar and leash, with appropriate identity and vaccine tags 3. Brush and other grooming tools if necessary
4. Food and water dishes with a fully-fortified dog food
5. Socialization and interaction!
6. Pet bed, or maybe a house breaking crate if you insist!
7. Toys(puzzles, balls, tough chewing/teething toys, kongs, treat-dispensers, etc.)
8. Love and companions!

Caging Provided:

Kennel/run and a dog house!

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Meat, meat, and more meat!(rationed out by directions of the can/bag, or course!)

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Feed every day, 3 small portions a day for puppies, 1-2 for adults.

Maintenance:

Pretty easy, but be prepared for HOURS of walks, obedience, agility, socialization, rule-breakings, and playtime

Some Words on this Species:

Very interactive, affectionate, easy-going SOMETIMES, wild, energetic, fun, expensive, and loveable mutts!
