Sexing and Characteristics: | Males are normally larger have bumps along the under part of there back legs
females are smaller and have very small or no bumps under back legs
still hard to sex |

Substrate and Water Needs: | I use rep-ti litter it works very well and isn’t to costly since they need a good 4-6 inches of substrate
watering bowl large enough to fit whole body in

Lighting and UVB: | I use uvb and uva lighting on my guys to help with calcium make sure all lighting is on at least 12 hours a day to mimic African sun |
Temperatures and Humidity: | My temps are at 90 basking and around 80 on the cool side of the tank
at night the temp drops to about 75 and shouldn’t get to much lower |
Heating and Equipment: | I use a 75 watt basking light at 16 inches up
i also have a under tank heater mounted to lexan under there hides to keep them warm at night |
Caging Provided: | A 40 gallon tank is fine but bigger is always better they do like to explore
i have my guys in a 4 foot by 18 inch by 16 inch(LXWXH)
and am building them a 4 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot cage after x mas |
Diet: | Omnivorous |
Description of Diet: | Ideal foods are crickets, meal worms,wax worms, pinkies, and exotic fruits like pineapple, pear, blue berries,raspberries,strawberries,mango,
i feed my guys on a weekly schedule like this
Monday:crickets 10 each
Tuesday: fruit
Wednesday:crickets 10 each
Thursday:fruit
Friday:crickets 10 each
Saturday:fruit
Sunday: 1-3 pinkies each |
Supplements, Nutrition and Usage: | I use calcium and Vitamin supplements to keep them healthy

Maintenance: | Clean cage once a month or so and make sure you clean up fecal matter and any left over food every day
|
Some Words on this Species: | They are an amazing little lizard very out going like to be handled ounce in a while
they aren’t nervous animals and i have never been bitten
