Sexing and Characteristics:
Males have a larger hemipenal bulges at the base of the tail, and the females have a smaller one. And females are normally larger and fatter.

Substrate and Water Needs:
Any type of substrate can be used (coconut mulch, bark chips, news paper, AstroTurf etc.). However, newspaper or paper towel is recommended for juveniles, because they are clumsy hunters and may swallow some of the loose types of substrate which can lead to chocking or problems with digesting. Loose substrates can be used for adults. It can be used for females to lay their eggs.
Most Crested geckos won’t drink from standing water, so a water dish is not needed, though you can use it for humidity. Mist the tank 1 to 2 times a day, they will drink from the small water droplets.
Lighting and UVB:
Crested Geckos require a UVB light. It helps avoid losing calcium which can lead to illness or death.
Temperatures and Humidity:
They don’t require any additional heating. Room temperature is fine. Extra heat may be needed if the room temperature is lower than 70F.
Heating and Equipment:
If the room temperature is lower than 70F you may need an under tank heat pad to put the temperature up to the mid 70s.
Caging Provided:
A 20 gallon tank is suitable for a pair of crested geckos.
Diet:
Omnivorous
Description of Diet:
The typical regimen is 2-3 days of Crested Gecko Diet and crickets 1-2 days a week.
Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:
Crickets should be dusted with calcium.
Maintenance:
Daily misting is needed for high humidity. Daily spot cleaning and full cleaning bi-weekly of the tank is needed for a happy gecko.
