Substrate and Water Needs:

Newspaper substrate, wood chips harmful if it contains dust and it is ingested.besides, newspaper is cheap and it is easier to locate ticks and mites on the snakes body.

Lighting and UVB:

Regular clip lamp, turned on for sometimes over 12 hours, try to keep it on for more than 10 a day.nothing else is used, and seems to be working fine.

Temperatures and Humidity:

I have a basic refrigerator thermometer and it tells the precise temperature and gets the job done efficiently.

Heating and Equipment:

A regular heating lamp, and a safely secured heating pad attached to the bottom of the tank under the hide box.jim,my snake, likes this spot best.

Caging Provided:

A 30 gallon i think, need to check...but it is glass with a LATCHED LID and wire mesh to ventilate and maintane heat.very important for a latched lid, jimmy boy tried to escape once...

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Every friday(once every week)i give my ball python a weaned baby mouse, and it seems to fill him up just right.(its pretty exciting to watch him eat!)and as soon as he needs it,ill move up to an adult mouse,or whatever he needs to get the proper nutrition.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

None so far.

Maintenance:

I think as far as maintenance goes,i give him water every day, feed him every week, clean his cage every month, and bathe him in a lukewarm bath every time he is shedding to speed up the process, gently.

Some Words on this Species:

This is an EXCELLENT beginner species,im a first time snake owner, and it helped that he never bites, and is very docile and timid.and hes my beautiful little baby!
