Sexing and Characteristics:
Males have one big claw, females have two little claws.

Substrate and Water Needs:
Substrate: Sand, gravel Sloped up to one side to make a land area. 1/4 land 3/4 water. All land areas must come at least 1" out of the water.
Water: Brackish water about 2.5 - 3" deep. Or enough to fully submerge themselves in.
Lighting and UVB:
Not required but standard fish tank lights will do. No UVB is needed.
Temperatures and Humidity:
75F - 85F
70% - 80% The large pool of brackish water will produce all the humidity you’ll need.
Heating and Equipment:
Aquarium lights in smaller tanks
UTH in anything larger than 5 gallons.
Caging Provided:
5 gallons and up, depending on number of crabs.
A pair in 5 gallons, 4 in 10 gallons, 6 in 15, get it now. Every 5 gallons is enough for 2 crabs.
Diet:
Omnivorous
Description of Diet:
Fish food of any kind. Shrimp pellets and betta food being easiest to use. Hikari makes fiddler crab pellets and they seem to like them so go for it.
Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:
None.
Maintenance:
Just clean about once every few months and top off the water with fresh dechlorinated water whenever it starts to get low. The salt will not evaporate and will just mix with the new water.
Some Words on this Species:
They are skittish at first, running to their burrows, but will get used to people eventually. Then you can observe all of their peculiar behaviors and might even be the target of claw waving.
