Sexing and Characteristics:

Can’t tell sex until they Morph

Both

Substrate and Water Needs:

No substrates are needed for tadpoles but gravel and a rock or two looks nice.

Lighting and UVB:

No special lighting is needed but if you have a small tank with a light hood that’s nice.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Temperatures should be between 70 & 80. I put my Fowler’s Toad tads in 3-inches of "de chlorinated"room temperature water, they were very tiny.

Heating and Equipment:

No special heating equipment is needed as long as they are kept in a room that is not cold.

Caging Provided:

I morphed my tadpoles in a 5 gal. tank. When they started getting legs I mounded gravel and put some rocks by the water in half the tank for them to climb out on.

Diet:

Herbivorous

Description of Diet:

I was very successful with chopped lettuce boiled for 15 minutes, drained, cooled and given twice a day. I found that they also would eat algae wafers. But they liked the lettuce best.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I gave no supplements

Maintenance:

Gently take out each tad with a small fish net or cup, place it into a separate clean container with de chlorinated fresh water until living space has been cleaned. I completely changed water every other day,all gravel and stones were washed off also.

Some Words on this Species:

You should keep a bottle a de chlorated water ready for changing at all times. I put 3-5 drops of fish tank water de clorinator in a 2 liter soda bottle filled with tap water. With clean water and good boiled lettuce they should be very happy Tadpoles. I enjoy the proses of watching them grow and morph.
