Sexing and Characteristics:

You can’t sex superworms as far as i know of.

DO NOT REFRIGERATE SUPERWORMS!

Substrate and Water Needs:

You need 3 inches of oat or wheat bran as a substrate and gutload. Place 2 baby carrots in the container for every 10 superworms, replace the carrots every 2 days.

Lighting and UVB:

No lighting or UV required

Temperatures and Humidity:

They breed best at 75- 80 degrees humidity should be low

Heating and Equipment:

You need a container they cant escape from (10 gal aquarium, rubbermaid box, etc) and if you plan on breeding a heat light to keep temps around 75-80 degrees

Small rubbermaid box

Diet:

Herbivorous

Description of Diet:

Eats oat, and wheat bran as food source and substrate, eats pieces of fruits and vegetables for moisture.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Coat with a calcium or vitamin powder before feeding them to your herps.

Maintenance:

Throw away dead ones and change the moisture source every 2 days.

to breed:
raise until they are 2.5 inches long then put them in a small dark plastic container (film container, perscription container, etc), only put 1 superworm per container with a pinch of substrate and air holes.

check on the small container after 1 week and see if they look like small white aliens, if they look like aliens that is good. If they are still superworms they are dead so throw them out. After two weeks in the film containers check for beetles every day.
when you find beetles put them in a large container (10 gallon, rubbermaid, etc) with 2 inches of oat or wheat bran with some baby carrots and cardboard tubes.
after 2 weeks in that container change them to another container.
keep changing the containers until all beetles are dead. the female beetle can lay up to 500 eggs of which about maybe 50 will live on.
