Sexing and Characteristics:

The male will have a bigger tail. The male Has a flattened shell at the Plastron. The females plastron sticks out.

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

It can have wood chips or newspapper. always have a sustrate or the tortoise can’t move very well!!! Have a dish of water for the tortoise to soak it’s self into.

Lighting and UVB:

You should have a 100 watt UVB light so the tortoise can have his natural temperature like how it is in the wild.
Always remember to turn it off at night!So you would turn it on in the morning and turn it off at night.

Temperatures and Humidity:

It should be about 90 degrees in the cage and the humidity should be around 55 degreese.

Heating and Equipment:

This is the list of equipment.

lettuce bowl
water dish
uvb light
at least a 3 foot long cage
substrate
a place to hide in.
food.

Caging Provided:

I provided a 33 inched cage by an 18 inches with woodchips as substrate. I dont have a water dish because I soak him by hand. A uvb light and a place to hide in made from a card board box.

Diet:

Herbivorous

Description of Diet:

Eats romaine lettuce and any other vegies, iceburg lettuce is unhealthy.Seems my tortoise dosnt like carrots.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Tortoise powder( sprinkle on every other feeding. )

Maintenance:

Never hold your tortoise upside down it gets them sick.
Handle them gentally!!!!!!!

Some Words on this Species:

If you first get your tortoise and it dosnt go in his water bowl you will have to soak him 3 times a week. If he dosnt, you dont have to. These tortoises are very friendly and dont bite at all. That dosnt mean you can hit it!!!!!!!!!!!
