Sexing and Characteristics:

Rainbow Boas are constrictors from central and South America, they are high humidity loving snakes.
If you want to find out the sex of the snake, take it to someone who knows a lot about them.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

You can use newspaper, reptile carpet, aspen, reptile bark,and cypress. I use reptile bark. Change bedding at least every month, or your snake can get mites. Provide a large enough water pool or dish for your snake to soak in.

Lighting and UVB:

Rainbow Boas are fine without UVB, it only brings out natural colors. Like most snakes, Boas get their calcium from in the liver of what they eat.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Day Time Temp: 80- 85
Basking:90
Night Time Temp: 70-80
Humidity: 70 %
when in shed: 80%
Too much humidity can cause respiratory problems, too little can cause dry skin.
I mist cage every day.

Heating and Equipment:

I use reptile heat bulbs, Day/Night bulbs.
You can use heat pads as well, but I don’t.

Caging Provided:

Babies are good in 10 gallon, Adults in 40 or 50 gallon.
Tubs or plastic boxes with holes are good as well.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Feed young feeder mice older can feed on rats.
I feed live, it is more healthier.
DON’T FEED TOO LARGE OF PREY
don’t feed in cage...

N/A

Maintenance:

Easy, just keep it sprayed.
