Burmese Pythons

Sexing and Characteristics:

Before You actually think about Buying this snake Think DO YOU REALLY WANT A REPTILE THAT CAN REACH 18 FEET IN LENGTH. And even if you do say "oh I could always sell it when it gets to big" well your sadly mistaken there is a very small market for Large Burms. if you do decide to buy one of these magnificent snakes then read on.
Temperment
Normally Burmese pythons are quite nippy but with a good amount of handling this can be eliminated. I experienced this with my burm she was always Hissing and biting then i handled her for hours at a time a she calmed down pretty quickly.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

I would strongly reccomend getting astroturf it’s cheap easy to clean and you can easily detect any mites or ticks that your Burm may have picked up.

Lighting and UVB:

You dont need any uvb bulbs but it would be a smart idea to get a blacklight to keep the temp up during the night but for dayly heating I use a ceramic bulb and a Flouresent light to mimic real sun

Temperatures and Humidity:

The humidity should idealy stay at 65% to 70% and the temps should stay at about 80 on the cool side and 90-93 on the basking side.

Heating and Equipment:

As i reccomended before i would use a ceramic bulb which can last 14 years and provide reliable heat and also a blacklight for night time heating and a flouresent bulb for light

Caging Provided:

I provided a 90 gallon tank ( the burms about 40 inces long)
Astroturf as a substrate for heating look above

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

I feed one full size mouse every four days

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

None required

Maintenance:

Just replace the water every day and clean out the tank every month and your fine

Some Words on this Species:

If You have the room and experience then you should get this majestic and beautyfull Reptile
