Sexing and Characteristics:
Agressive sexual behaviour or basic aggression can be detected by the hissing and quick rattling or vibration of the tail. It is not common. Some say it is like a rattle snake.

Substrate and Water Needs:
Cypress or Eucalyptis Mulch is the best holds moisture for a good humid environment... A den is good for when they are smaller.
Lighting and UVB:
Basking Lamp, Night lamp, and 0.8 or 0.5 UV lighting
Temperatures and Humidity:
110 degrees F day and 70-80 at night keep his hide box or rock den humide this also helps shedding and is close to his natural environment.
Heating and Equipment:
Heat pad under cage...watch all glass cages, they may break, and a basking lamp
Caging Provided:
A 38x 78 cage( for now until he is huge), with a ramp leading to a 7 foot by 3 foot box full of mulch and plants and food..he likes to roam

Omnivorous
Description of Diet:
My tegu enjoy, turkey, pinkies, oranges and especially mushrooms. He often eats cheese and some what enjoys crickets.
Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:
Rep-Cal cricket dust for his vitamines and minerals and also a CALCIMIZE for his water (by Flukers)
Maintenance:
If you use mulch, just remove the area where he or she went to the bathroom and change water and food daily...make sure cage is moist.
