Sexing and Characteristics:

If you want to tell if your snake is Male/Female you’ll need a sexing probe and that will determin.

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

News paper will do fine other things can be bought like turf, woodchips, and shreded tree bark from a pet store NEVER collect this stuff from outside as it could infect your python with a fatel virus!! A water bowl is also needed for drinking, bathing and swiming you can use a bowl from around the house, but clean it first -or- you can buy a sturdy water bowl at a pet store, try and get a bowl that can fit your snake in -or- even bigger sized bowl just make it can fit in your pythons tank/wired cage.

Lighting and UVB:

You may use a heat lamp just make sure that it is a small dome sized lamp fixture and don’t get a light bulb that is powerful or it will fry your snake!!! try a 75 watt to a 100 watt not 150 watt lightbulb.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The tank should always be from 80-90 degrees if gets any hotter your snake may die if it gets to low it will become frozen. You shold have a sparybottle and spray the pythons tank once in a while so it dosent over heat.

Heating and Equipment:

You can use a heat lamp {but not to powerful} -or- you can use a heat pad under the tank make sure one side of the tank is hot and the other side is cooler than the other side. But NEVER EVER use a hot rock or it will burn the python’s skin.

Caging Provided:

I suggest that you have 20 gallon tank for hatchlings 30 gallon for a young adult and a 40 gallon for a full grown snake plese provide a hide box, somthing to heat the tank, a branch, a water bowl, good clean substrate and a themometer [NOTE:you MUST clean the tank every week].

You should take your snake to a reptile vet once a year for a cheakup NOTE this does cost money check your local repti vet for costs of the cheakup and other important vet stuff.

Some Words on this Species:
