The male’s tail is longer than the female’s.

Substrate and Water Needs:
Substrates: news paper, sand dirt mix, or peat moss sand mix.
Water: put a small dish of water in the cage and let the tortoises soke in a larger contaner 1-2 times a week.
Lighting and UVB:
Russians need lots of UVB+UVA! Also use 75-100 W. heat lamp.
Temperatures and Humidity:
Day 90-100. Night 70-80.
Russians need low humidity (they are desert tortoises)!
Heating and Equipment:
75-100 W. heat lamp.
Caging Provided:
30-40 gallon cage for one adult or 40-55 for a two.
An out door pen is by far the best!
Diet:
Herbivorous
Description of Diet:
Russians will eat:
Dandelions,
Wild grape vine leaves,
Cabbage,
Collards,
Turnip greens,
Lettuce,
and lots more.
They will also eat worms. But worms should only be every now and then.

Clean cage when soiled.
