Sexing and Characteristics:

Males tend to be larger and have a more slender body and more broader head than females.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

The substrate should be something that keeps moisture for your skinks humidity needs. Cedar and pine should never be used. A large water bowl or waterfall for soaking should always be available. tip:cannot recognize still water

Lighting and UVB:

All Skinks should have UVB and UVA lighting.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The temperature in the cage should be 75-85 degrees degrees. The basking spot spot should be near a 95 degrees. Humidity should be 70 - 85 percent mist the cage 2 - 3 times a day to obtain this.

Heating and Equipment:

Heating can be established with incandescent bulbs.

Caging Provided:

I provide my skink with a 4 feet high x 2.5 feet long x 2 feet deep. But the absolute minimum cage space is 3 feet by 24 inches by 18 inches and i mean that’s absolute. Monkey tails are highly arboreal (live off of the ground) you MUST provide many climbing branches and dense foliage for hiding.

Diet:

Herbivorous

Description of Diet:

List of foods I use: collard greens, broccoli, romaine lettuce, berries, pothos, kale, frozen mixed veggies,
and swiss chard.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Dust foods 2 - 3 times every feeding.

Maintenance:

Relatively easy recommended for intermediate to advanced hobbyist.

Although they can become used to regular handling and quite friendly monkey tails have extremely powerful jaws. Monkey tails are Native to the Solomon islands. life span 15 - 20 years.
size is 18 - 32 inches.
