Other Species or Phases this Care Sheet May Cover:

Sexing and Characteristics:

A female tokay will have pores on her vent but a males pores on his vent will be more destinctive then a females and that is one way to tell them apart.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Any reptile safe substrate is sutible, such as repti bark which is what I use. As for water you should mist daily and keep a water bowl in their cage. Usually they will not drink from this but i have found that mine will do nothing now but drink from it, instead of licking up the mist.

Lighting and UVB:

All I can say for lighting is that you shoould have an indecent bulb. I have found too thath UVB lightinh is not required.

Temperatures and Humidity:

During the day the terranium sould be between 85 and 95 during the day and 75 to 80 at night. the humidity should be around 70 to 90 percent and you can do this with misters and planting live palnt and you can also put a peice of plexi-glass on top of the hood of your cage.

Heating and Equipment:

You should hace a heating lamp and a heating pad under the terranium for efficiant het and you should have all lights in the terranium on timers so they are on during the day and off a night.

Caging Provided:

I have my gecko in a 20 gallon long tank. with a mesh metal hood.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

You should feed your gocko crickets every other day and meal worms on the weekened. also if you have an adult tokay you can feed it pinky mice once a month as a good source of calcium.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

you should feed your gecko a vitamin supplement and calcium, to ensure his or her health.

Maintenance:

You should clean your geckos cage at periodic intervals and remove feces every other day if possible

Some Words on this Species:

This species is aggressive and will bite if they feel threatened (which is any time you hand is near or around them). when they bite they will make you bleed so if you do pick them up try to wear a leather glove or some sort of protection. and if you have any more questions e-mail me at khiled10@aol.com and make the subject on your e-mail gecko.
