Sexing and Characteristics:

Males are larger and have two hemipenile bulges on thhe base of their tale.They also have a v shped row of pores right before the vent. The Females are much smaller and almost invisible row of pores.

Substrate and Water Needs:

I sugest using Repti bark or some other sortn of bark. But never use any kind of sand the leos might indgest some while their eating and it can impact in their stomaches and kill them. I change my leos water evey da or every other day.

Lighting and UVB:

They don’t need uvb lighting because they are nocturnal but some kind of heat lamp will do fine if you turn it pff at night.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The temperature at the warm side of the tank should be aroud 84-88f and on thne cooler side 78-82f. The humidity should be pretty low.

Heating and Equipment:

For heat you could use a heat lamp or an under tank heting pad never use heat rocks they develope hot spots wich can burn your lizards stomach.

Caging Provided:

A ten galon aquarium is good for three leos but never put two males together because they will fight to the death.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

They will eat crickets no bigger than their head same goes for mealworms and waxworms but do not use waxworms as a staple diet they are to fatty and don’t have the nutrion leos need. you should also gut load your crickets 8-10 hours before feeding any type of lizards or snakes wich means feed them dog or cat food, oats, fish flakes, but do not usre oranges the acid kills the crickets.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I put in a small dish of calcium powder, but you can also shake and bake their food wich means put them in a bag with calcium and D3 powder and shake them then feed them to your lizard.

Maintenance:

Maintenance is very easy change the water every secound day and they will use one vcorner as their bathroom wich makes it very eady to clean .

Some Words on this Species:

This species is very wasy to take care of and is great for begginers. I also find they like to be held and crawl up on your shoulder so play with them very often. But never grab their tales they fall off as a defense machanism, and they come back deformed.
