Most varieties of leopard geckos

Sexing and Characteristics:

Males have a larger broader head. Male leopard geckos also have a hemi-penile bulge and a set of v-shaped pre-anal pores are more pominent in males then females.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

I use playsand with no silica or desert blend substrate, along with a small dish of water.

Lighting and UVB:

I use a regular incandescent light bulb and no uvb lights because of leopard geckos being nocturnal. I use a red nocturnal bulb.

Temperatures and Humidity:

I keep the tempatures about 80-90 during the day and about 70-80 at night.

Heating and Equipment:

I use a small under tank heater.

Caging Provided:

I provide a 10 gallon tank for my leopard gecko. I have also kept some in the past in medium size sweater boxes. I also use a smaller plastic food container or shoebox to provide a hide space for leopard geckos with moist substrate inside.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

I feed my geckos crickets, mealworms, waxworms, and superworms.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I dust crickets with calcium every other day and vitamins once a week dusted on a cricket or other insect.

Maintenance:

Maintenance is pretty low. Just contine cleaning up poop from the cage and most will usually go to the bathroom in one area. Change water daily or close to daily.

Some Words on this Species:

Very good beginner lizard or reptile. Its even great for more advanced herpers.
