Leopard Geckos

Other Species or Phases this Care Sheet May Cover:

N/A

Sexing and Characteristics:

N/A

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Most people say not to use sand, but i use it because the reptile place i got my leo from said it would be fine and that people are just being bias (they really know what they are talking about at 50 Fathoms in Louisiana). If you don’t want to use sand i would suggest using paper towels. One of my friends uses paper towels and he said they work great. I change my leo’s water everyday. So i would provide them with fresh water everyday.

Lighting and UVB:

They DO NOT require UVB because they are nocturnal (i cant spell that) i do however recommend using a heat lamp for 12 hours of the day.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The temperature should be between 78 and 88 degrees F. and when the leos are shedding i would mist some water in the tank because humidity helps them with shedding.

Heating and Equipment:

You will need to give it 2 hide places and a water dish (at minimum, if you want a happy one you could put in some sticks if you want lol)

Caging Provided:

For one adult i would recommend using a 10 gallon... you will not need anything bigger FOR ONE ADULT.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

I feed mine strictly mealworms with the occasional waxwroms as a treat... DO NOT FEED THEM A STAPLE DIET OF WAXWORMS BECAUSE THEY ARE HIGH IN FAT!

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I sprinkle calcium on his worms every other feeding.

Maintenance:

They are really easy to take care of. you can just spot clean there cage when you see poo. and o would provide them with fresh water everyday.

Some Words on this Species:

They are really nice reptiles.. they are also easy to tame.. mine has never bit me yet.
