Sexing and Characteristics:

You can not probe or pop a green tree python they are way to fragile and kinking more then likely would happen. its best to wait until there 2 y/o of age .

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

I use newspaper for bedding and spray them daily since they don’t really drink from a water bowl but drink from there coils.

Lighting and UVB:

I use a GE soft white 60 watt bulb. no UV light is needed.

Temperatures and Humidity:

12 hours at 83-85 during the day with a night time drop of 80. i keep the humidity around 75% or better.

Heating and Equipment:

Look to lighting section.

Caging Provided:

I keep my babies in what they call a critter carrier you can find these at any pet store. i get the second to the smallest using two 1/8 inch wood dowels. i keep them in there till there about 10 months of age 1 year old. as adults i keep mine in a 2 ft x2ft x2ft cage made of melamine with two 2 inch wood dowels. by placing one wood dowel about 18-20 inches high and about 16-18 inch measuring from the back. this should be the closes to the heat source and the the other wood dowel can be towards the bottom about 10-12 inches from the bottoms closer to the back of the cage. about 8-10 inches. this will give them the chose to thermoregulate.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

General rule of thumb i live by is 2 meals in then they must defaecate before being feed again. as babies i feed mine 12-14 days apart as adults 14-16 days apart. remember there not Burmese or Retics they are a small slender snake that is not very active. so i feed mine small meals. for example a 5 foot female will be eating a medium sized rat.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I use nothing

Maintenance:

Just like any other snake.

Some Words on this Species:

These are delicate snakes that are fun to own, born either yellow, red or brown and can start to change color as early as 4 months old to as late a 18 months old.
