Sexing and Characteristics:

Males have longer tails while females have shorter stubbier tails.

Substrate and Water Needs:

I use newspaper as substrate. I provide a fairly large water bowl made by zoo med.

Lighting and UVB:

I use a 60w sun-glo lamp made by exo-terra although UV is not necessary it is beneficial. If you use a heat lamp make a hot side of tank and a cool side to allow snake to thermoregulate.

Temperatures and Humidity:

70-75 on cool side 77-85 on warm side.

Heating and Equipment:

Sun-glo heat lamp.

Caging Provided:

I have a ten gallon tank that houses 2 Adult Ribbon snakes.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

I feed them rosy red minnows 12 per snake once a week.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I used rep-cal calcium supplement and give each snake one dusted fish at each feeding.

Maintenance:

Clean cage at least once every two weeks. Clean water whenever it is fouled or every third day.
