 Care Sheet Submitted By:

Herps4life

Years Experience:

N/A

Species:

Leopard Geckos

Other Species or Phases this Care Sheet May Cover:

Maybe other species of gecko but I’m not sure. I only have a leopard gecko.

Sexing and Characteristics:

I’ve heard that females get bigger than males, but from most of all other web sites and books say that males get bigger and are less aggressive than most females.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Make sure that your herp has enough water everyday and change water dish daily so bacteria does not build up in the dish. Also, make sure that the dish is not to small but also not to big.

Lighting and UVB:

55 watt- 75 watt depending on what size of cage that you have.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Day = 95F-100F
Night = 85F-90F

Heating and Equipment:

Never use a wire heating lamp. Always use a solid heat lamp. I know from experience because I bought one for my iguana but she died sadly because the stupid pet store told me to buy it.They said that it would work as a good heat lamp. I paid $26.99 for my poor iguana to die.

Caging Provided:

Hideout, bedding, water dish, cage, top, heat lamp and a bulb

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Crickets, mealworms, silkworms, waxworms, earthworms,and pinkie mice for full grown geckos. Never feed your gecko a stable diet of pinkies or waxworms. Only feed those once a month because they are very high in fat and can cause problems for your gecko.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Dust crickets once a week and gutload all feeder insects. Never gutload any feeder insects with a fruit that has citrus in it. Citrus is very bad for any reptile "that’s what I was told" user any circumstances. It will make your herp very sick and in some cases even kill your herp.

Maintenance:

Everything shouldn’t coast more than $150. In fact I don’t even think that it should coast that much.

Some Words on this Species:

Nice herp. Easy to handle. Not to expensive. Doesn’t smell. Fun to watch.
