Sexing and Characteristics:

Female tokays have small pores between there back leggs.
male tokays have the same pores but are much larger.. and they have more noticabel bumps on the bas of there tail.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

I use bed-a-beast... it is good.. it holds moisture pretty well... i would recomend anything that is farely well at holding moisture... you dont need a water dish as tokays dont drink from the bowl.. but you need to mist up to 3 times a day.

Lighting and UVB:

I use a uvb light but it is not necessary as they are nocturnal.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Temps should be 80-90 and the humidity should be between 60 and 90.

Heating and Equipment:

I just use one 100 watt uvb light and it keeps the tank pretty warm... about 88 degrees

Caging Provided:

I have 2 tokays 1.1 housed in a 29 gallon tank

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Mine will eat pretty much anything that wiggles.lol

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Supplements are only neccasary if you dont use a UVB light... but it is allways good to dust there food even if you have a UVB light

Maintenance:

They are relatively low maintenance all you need to do is spot clean and change the substrate once a month

Some Words on this Species:

They are extremely aggressive.... mine is really tame and she doesn’t get too stressed when holding her. but that doesn’t mean they all are like that. when taming you should where a thick pair of gloves that way your tokay cant bite through them and bite you.
