Species:

Oregon Fence Lizard/Swift

Other Species or Phases this Care Sheet May Cover:

N/A

Sexing and Characteristics:

N/A

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

Water dish they can climb in and out of. Misting the tank also gives them a chance to enjoy drinking droplets.

Lighting and UVB:

Need natural sunlight or equivalent during the day. A basking light is also required during the day. A 60 watt black light would work at night.

Temperatures and Humidity:

One side of the tank should be kept between 70-100 degrees and the other half cooler. No heat rocks.

Heating and Equipment:

They need one or two places to hide in on the warm side and one or two on the cooler side. Logs, bark, or plants should be added for them to climb on. The more it is like their natural environment the less stressed they will be. A thermometer should be used on both sides to monitor them.

Caging Provided:

I have a ten gallon tank. The warm side has sand and the cooler side potting soil. If you get this from outside be sure to "bake" it to kill any viruses or bacteria(350 for ten min.). I have a log, chunk of bark, and a plant for mine to climb on. I have several rocks they can hide in or under, or lie on. Make sure there stable or they could crush your lizard if he gets under there.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Gut-loaded crickets is there main source. Make sure anything you feed it is smaller then their head. They have to be able to swallow it.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

You should dust crickets with Repto-Cal ( a calcium supplement). I also use a vitamin spray on mine.

Maintenance:

Wash off Plants, rocks, anything else in tank (not Lizard) with mild water and be sure to rinse thoroughly.

Some Words on this Species:

Very friendly. Active, they run and jump very well.
