Sexing and Characteristics:

Males reach 3-4 feet long, while females can reach 5-6 feet. Also, males have smaller heads than females. To determine the sex of a juvenile Ball Python, you can go to a reptile vet and get them probed. Simple and harmless.

Substrate and Water Needs:

The best substrates are aspen shavings. NEVER GET CEDAR. Also, astro-turf, and paper towels are good.

Lighting and UVB:

They don’t need any UVB, but you can put lights in there to make the cage warmer.

Temperatures and Humidity:

The cage should be around 90 degrees on the warm side, and 80-85 on the cool side. The cage should never be cooler than 75 degrees and no hotter than 95. The humidity should be around 60%

Heating and Equipment:

For the heating, use a heat lamp, and./or an under-tank heater. Also, you can use a thermostat and Flex-
Watt Heat Tape under the tank. To raise humidity, you could get a mister or a waterfall. And, you can also just buy a spray bottle for 2.00 and mist it yourself. And hides can be as simple as putting a cereal box in the cage.

Caging Provided:

Aquariums and Terrariums are recommended. Ball pythons can live in a 10 gallon tank until they are around 20-25 inches long. From there you can get a 20 gallon long. They will be able to live in it until they have just about reached their full length. When full adults, they can live in a 30 gallon tank.

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

They eat mice, rat pups, and, if the snake is large, frozen rats.

Maintenance:

Maintenance is not too hard, just clean up the feces and urates when you see it, and make sure the temperature and humidity is just right. also, you need to make sure they have water, of course.
