Nick’s frog hasa to be Rana grylio. It HAS to be and if it isn’t, well then I’m done searching. Because Rana grylio is pretty damn close, so in my eyes it is right. I win.

No Idea (yet) on either lizard.

Nope, not Rana gylio. I’ll give you a hint. This frog was discovered just a few years before I was born.

Cheers,

Nope, my lizard is not in the genus Elgaria. Nobody seems to be getting it, so I’ll give you the genus, Gerrhonotus. That should help significantly.

As for that Varanid up there, its a great pic but nigh impossible to tell the species from. I would guess Varanus acanthurus, the ackies or spiny-tailed monitor, but I need to see more than the front of the head and a foot to be 100% confident.

Well Jonah, that is clearly a Leopard gecko. I commend you on only displaying part of it, it does make it harder.

I am posting this because I think all the other have been guessed. These are juveniles, it makes it a bit more challenging, but they should be easy to guess. Enjoy, and happy hunting.

My lizards are not brown basilisks. Good guess though. Your’s is an eastern box turtle, Terrapene carolina.

Wait, didn’t we do this one? Wasn’t it Hyla cinerea? If not, I’m having some serious deja vu. Hang on, are you the same "breeder" from the tortoise forum? Don’t you work with Russian Tortoises? If so, we’ve spoken before, hi!

It’s a sulcata, Geochelone sulcata. Whoever said the conehead lizard answer was close, very close. Why does the font go all weird from time to time? Does anyone know?

Ryan, you got my lizard awhile back, Gerrhonotus infernalis. I hear the trick to finding these guys is looking in the trees: they are arboreal. Hopefully I’ll be going to Texas this summer to do some field work with these guys, so I’ll be learning first hand how to find them.
Anyway, Evan, are your lizards young Laemanctus serratus?
And I believe that gecko to be Hemidactylus garnotii?
Anybody figure out Nick’s frog yet? I think that’s the last one in need of ID now.

C’mon guys its just a Rana ;) As I said before, this Rana was discovered but a relatively short time ago. It is also endemic to a single state. You should all be able to get it now. :)

Cheers,
