Help hi. i just joined this forum. i’ve always been interested in keeping lizards but it happened today. i found an unhappy looking and obviously not too well lizard on the street in barcelona. but i don’t know what it is.it is about 4 inches long - it would’ve been longer but it looks like it lost its tail and is beginning to grow a new one. it is a mottled chestnut brown and cream colour with slightly ’thorny’ sides. the neck is narrow and short and the headis roughly diamond shaped and also slightly thorny. its toes are slightly rounded. i thought it was some kind of gecko, but i couldn’t find a picture that resembles it anywhere. hence this post. if someone could help me to identifiy it i will hopefully have a better chance of keeping it alive and enjoying a happy life. thanks
andy

Help it is most likely a species of fence lizard. in my opinion, they dont make the best pet lizards. if you want a lizard, you would probably be better off buying a captive bred one of your choice.
