What would work? I have kept many lizards in my time and now have an empty cage measuring 2 x 2 x 2’. I only want a lizard that either eats vegetables or rodents. I cant stand crickets anymore! Other than that I would consider anything. What would you suggest?

What would work? Well, there are a lot of nutritious, active prey items other than crickets, like silkworms. Why not a blue-tongued skink? They eat mostly greens, with soft fruits and the best insects to feed them are silkworms and butterworms. Every so often they can have excellent quality dog food, like Wellness or Spot’s Stew, but not cheap store-brand or not really the common kinds. There’s a fantastic care sheet on bluetongueskinks.net, I reccomend you read the whole thing. Blueys can be tamed to be puppy-like, and are often called the Cadillac of lizards.

What would work? A blue tongue skink is not an acceptable choice for that size cage.

What would work? I agree, I would say a 4 x 2 x 2 would be a minimum for blue tongue skinks.
