 Horned lizards

please someone help me i have two horned lizards that me and my husband found but they are starting to fight and im not sure if they are mating or really fighting can someone please tell me an easy way to tell what gender they are i cant seem to figure it out from the advice off the internet if need be i will post pictures of them.

That’s an easy fix. Separate them. Most lizards are territorial as a whole and don’t like to be crammed into a small tank with one another.

If they’re wild-caught from outside, release one when the temps are good near an area with plenty of hiding places (like rock crevasses or branches).

And remember that out of all lizards you can own, horned lizards are one of the hardest to keep alive in captivity. This has to do their diet (which is primarily harvester ants), stress, and general incorrect husbandry over all.

yes krazykelli is right you need to seperate them or let one go because its past their breeding time even though some have been known to breed this time of the year. it is most likly that they are both males and as with most other lizards they tend to be more territorial then the females.
