Anyone know Florida lizard collecting laws? hey, i was wondering if anyone knew the laws about taking native species of lizards from Florida, and bringing them back to say, Illinois, to keep as pets. We will be going on a trip there in 3 days and i was wondering if this would be ok, if anyone knows of a site or just knows that this would be alright with the airport or state, please reply, btw i would be bringing it back in a plastic container with the natural surroundings inside it, with food, on carry-on so it doesn’t get handled roughly. thanks Leorex

Anyone know Florida lizard collecting laws? It would not be a good idea. Go to the Florida fish and wildlife website. There are many laws against removing wildlife and relocating it. Why would you want to remove wildlife from their natural enviornment and put it in a cage?

Anyone know Florida lizard collecting laws? well theres practically no way to keep a reptile, which is what this entire site is dedicated to, and not put it in a cage. Don’t you have reptiles in cages? Otherwise what do you get out of this site?

Anyone know Florida lizard collecting laws? well i guess thats true, but they had to start somewhere, which had to have been caught in the wild, anyways, thanks for the site, it states that "Individuals (both resident and nonresident) mal collect non-regulated species of reptiles and amphibians for personal use withouth special permits or other authorization." so i assume this means that it is completely legal.
