 Alligator Lizard??

I found a lizard at work. It’s was 6" long, mostly tail, is greyish brown with faint dark stripes and faint rust markings on it’s back. It’s grown about 3" in 3 months. Eats 5-10 crickets + 2 meal worms a day and loves beetle pupi. It’s up most of the day, basking on a rock under a UV light and sleep at night under cover. I’ve never seen it go in the water but finds signs it has. How can I ID this guy (or gal)? The photos on line are similar but markings are different. Help

Alagators are very long compared to other species of lizard, so I doubt thats what you have, maybe you have a young one. If you find a pic orf something similer to out that would help.
