SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! I THINK MY EMERALD SWIFT IS SICK If you’re worried about infection from a toe falling off or there is a problem with the skin, you should take the lizard to the vet or call a vet and get the proper professional advise/medications. So you know how to prevent future happenings. How soon is ’recent’?

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! I THINK MY EMERALD SWIFT IS SICK
i got him about a week agoi cant really take him to a vet, he is still young and skittish, and he isnt hand-tamed. he also is quite small, maybe 5 inches. i dunno what to do! the store i got him from did not provide the proper environment/humidity, so he had a problem shedding. i think that is what the problem was. it is obviously causing him pain and i feel so bad i dunno what to do scalesntails

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! I THINK MY EMERALD SWIFT IS SICK Look, if the lizard is hard to pick up, then take the entire tank with you to the vet. Just make sure to put a towel over the tank when you do so it lessens stress. Reptile vets have been trained in picking up reptiles. Since you bought the reptile from a store, I HIGHLY recommend you get a vet visit and fecal test anyway to rule out parasites. If he’s in Pain, then that’s a bigger reason for a vet visit. Don’t back out on this.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! I THINK MY EMERALD SWIFT IS SICK I recommend checking the yellowpages and calling around. Sometimes a vet wont have a descriptionof what they do in the yellowpages, but if you call and ask, I’m sure someone will have experience. You can also go to the pet store and ask them what vet to go to. They’ll help. Worse comes to worse you can also check with the aspca. I honestly didn’t know there were reptile vets in the colder part of michigan but learned that if there’s a petstore that sells reptiles, there’s a vet for them in the area.
