If you want a lizard that can fit in that 20 gallon long, and doesn’t eat crickets, then you are out of luck, nearly every single species needs crickets as a part of their diet, whether it is a small part, or the main part of the diet

Instead of looking for a lizard to put in your tank requirements, find a lizard you like and study up on how their tank requirements should be. You’ll never find a lizard or keep one successfully by starting off with the tank and supplies, then wondering what would work with what you bought. It should be the opposite. Ie, you find a lizard species you like, get the tank and stuff to their specifications, then buy that breed of reptile.

Leos can live in a 10 gallon tank all their life, but a 20 will work. They don’t need UTH as they’re nocturnal. And they eat crix, mealies, or silkies.

Beardies hang out during the day, need a 40 or so gallon tank (as they grow to be about 2 feet long), need UTH, and... I’m not sure on what they eat. Best you check up on that.

So my recommendation is that you look through the forum and ask about how easy some lizards are to keep, find a species you particulary like, study, study, study, study some more, then research a bit. Followed by getting the tank and supplies together For that specific lizard a week before purchase. I also recommend you find a herp vet so your lizard can be checked out after purchase (to rule out parasites or other probs).
