 Sad, Sad Story RIP Missy

The other day I was handling one of my timor monitors and she bit me on my finger and wouldn’t let go. I was wearing gloves so it didn’t hurt. I’ve been told by people that if you are bit by a monitor that you should get a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol on it and put it near the lizards nose and they should let go. Well she finally let go but she dropped to the floor and ran behind the toilet in my bathroom. I couldn’t catch her in time and she ran into a small hole behind the toiled. It took me an hour to get her out of the wall and when I finally did she was basically limp and not moving much. I put her on the floor and she started walking with a limp like one of her arms was broken. I rushed to the vet and he told me that she seemed fine and that she was just shocked by the truama and I should just put some neosporin on the one wound she had. She didn’t even have a name so I let the girl behind the counter at the vet name her...Missy. So basically my mom called me this morning to tell me that the monitor was dead. I feel terrible and I’m also quite angry at the vet. He wasn’t the main person who deals with reptiles at the vet’s office, but still he should have known something. Charing me 65 bucks for nothing.
