Occelated Skinks Hey I have an extra 29gal and I bought all the reptile supplies I would need the other day. What I need is some one to clarify care on these cute little creatures. I read that they are handle able, they are insectivores, and gvivge birth to live youngv which caught my attention. The site I read from said use silver sand if not washed play sand. So I was woderingv what the hell is silvger sand? ALso I read 6adults can live perfectly in an 18x12x12 which I felt was cramped. SO if you gvuys can tell me care besides what I read I’ld really appreciate it (also how many can live in a 29gal).

Occelated Skinks
Hello! Mine use Calcium sand as its soluble and stops impaction in the gut. I’m not sure what Silver sand is, but it might be a fine grain sand as these are sand swimmers. I think my calcium sand is a bit heavy for them, the adults are ok with it but youngsters not so!
I would only advise having 2 in a tank as they can pick off the weakest if there’s more.
