I suggest BD’s cost so much you need to care for them and not worry about adding to your collection! All lizards need a lot of "Crap" to survive.

A pictus or leopard gecko would be nice. All you would need is a heat mat, thermometer/hygrometer, three hides (hot, cold; humid), a water bowl, calcium powder, multivitamin powder, calcium with D3 (if you don’t use a UVB tube), and a bug dish (optional).

whatever it may be that you get next, don’t just look for something to pick up. make sure you do a ton of research before buying. (not trying to preach to you, as you’ve probably heard that 4857895 times).

oh i am SO sorry i was being a buttmunch haha. i was reading your post and it comes off that you have spare money and just want to fill another tank with a random lizard that someone suggests. you don’t have to get an attitude with people that are trying to be of help, since that is what this site is obviously here to do. i will try not to be such a buttmunch next time, beavis.

Not many lizards you can keep in a 10 gal. If you want to use it as a temporary set up then I could offer you some more.

I was just stating that you should not buy another lizard just because you had 100$ BD’s cost at LEAST 100$ a month each...And no need to call names, That is very Childish...And I have been called worse and if you are going to call names be inventive.

Not to seem like a jerk to you or anything but if you got something against Emi (which I kinda doubt, because she just annoyed you with her useless info [I’m not insulting her but I’m saying as a BD owner you already have the funds ready for it]), then you got a problem with me. Emi, don’t go around encouraging people to flame you.

my apologies stern for the reaction. this wasn’t meant to start an argument, i’m sure. to get back on topic. if you can afford a BD, then it’s a wonderful investment. they do eat A LOT, but their personalities are well worth the hole in the wallet. crested geckos are a great addition to a herp family, as well as a veiled chameleon (if you are quite experienced) although they do require A LOT of special attention with their husbandry and habitat. these are of course if you can afford a much larger enclosure. for a 10 gallon i am not sure if a pictus or a viper gecko would be ok in that size enclosure as i have never housed any, but the pictures and info i have read seem very interesting.

Emily didnt do anything wrong. she was right saying that you probaly should just save the money for the other lizards. she wasnt starting a fight. when you get all the supplies you probaly wont have enough money to pay the vet trip. theres always guinnypigs......

Veileds need at least a 50 gallon, preferably more. I cannot think of any skinks that are fine in a ten gallon. Some of the smallest species can be kept in nothing less than a 20, as they are very active and need a lot of room. Garter snakes also should have at least a 20 for the same reason. One american toad would probably be fine in a 10.

As a baby, one would need a ten/twenty gallon with foliage, basking logs, basking bulb, flourescent bulb, water heater, filter, varied diet, thermometers, water declorinator, supplements, etc etc.
An adult would need the same, except the cage upgraded to a 60-100 gallon.
