Hullo, I am looking to get myself a new lil reptile, and I love how the Agamas look, i currently own a Uromastyx, he is moving up to a new home soon so i will have a spare 3x1.5x1.5ft viv, and i was just curious as to if an agama could live in one? perhaps not forever, but for a few years! Also, i was wondering if you can feed agams salad? like a uro...

only experience i have with agamas are water dragons, frill dragons and newly acquired sail fin dragon. i am sure any agama that doesnt get to large (6 inches) and doesnt have arboreal needs could live in that enclosure.

that sounds like you have a 40 gallon breeder tank. you can do much with that tank . let me show you!



this is a 40 gallon tank with a wooded 4 sided top. i used plexiglass for the top most part of the front and i used the 40 gallon screen top for the front. i staple gunned the soft side of velcro to the wood. then placed the rough side of the velcro onto the plexi and the screen . you need 3-6 inch strips for it to hold well and hold for many months up to a year and counting on my velcro strips.

;) 40 gallons are great tanks

Its not a breeder, just a 40 gallon.... It opens from the front and not the top, it only has the front made from glass! Still think it would be suitable? Shame noone else uses this forum, would be nice to see/hear other peoples thoughts! =) though, its nice to get just one! =D

What are the eating habits of these guys? I know they can eat salad, but what type, what leaves? Do they need any other food or will just greens sufice?

sorry, i dont know of any that would do only veg. try kingsnake or fauna, they have some agama breeders on occasion, and some who sell wc, maybe try to contact one of them and see if they can help.

I will pop into Fauna, as there is a branch about 5 minutes away from me! lol. Thats where i got my Uro from!! =) What sorta critters do the agamas eat? meal worms? crickets?

i fed my pale agamas and butterfly agamas crix, mealworms, roaches, wax worms on occasion and pheonix worms. most of them ate some greens but not a whole lot.

*shudders* I can handle worms, but crickets i dont think i could manage!! lol. I will stick to Uros ;) for now at least, as soon as i live with my partner i might invest, as he can then feed the bugs and stuff! haha
