 Help on alligator eggs

they are probably dented because they need more water. Don’t put allot of water just spray around and on the eggs so they do get dehydrated

 Help on alligator eggs

Don’t get any water directly on the eggs. I’ve had great luck with vermiculite, but others have used coconut fiber successfully for incubation. The substrate should be moist but not wet. I usually go by feel and stop adding water when the vermiculite feels damp and if I squeeze a granule water comes out. Put them in something like a little Tupperware, deli cup, or glad ware container, bury them about 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the way in the substrate and close the lid. Open the lid a crack once a week or so for air exchange. If the eggs have not totally deflated there is still hope, and if they’re viable they should gradually plump back up once you get the humidity levels right. Avoid the impulse to get the eggs wet or put them in wet substrate as this can drown the embryo. If you want to moisten the existing substrate, drip water around, but not on the eggs. It would probably be easier / better to mix up a new batch and transfer them eggs into it, be careful not to rotate them during transfer.
