 Caiman lizard

a while ago i was at the san deigo zoo and i saw this "camain lizard" and i asked if they were baby caimans but the guy said no and they looked like mini alligator not like the ones ive seen on this forum..does anyone know what i am talking about?

you are talking about a lizard that is related to tegus the genus is draceana.
they are thought to be large snail eaters due to their jaw structure
the come from amazonia, and are among the most awesome appearing lizard on earth
rare in captivity and seldom availabe, the last one I saw was for 2k

Caimains get 2-3 feet long, and are capable of eating cat food :)

Its called CAT food for a reason. Feeding Cat food to almost any lizard will kill it or lead to malnutrition.

Sorry, but they eat snails ! Do not feed them jst with dogfood!
And they are getting bigger than 2-3 feet up to 6-7.

They do eat CAT FOOD though, along with crayfish (crawfish), Smelt, Snails and insects. i am getting one my self for an extremely cheap price! $6.00 for 1 baby Caiman Lizard! I can’t wait. I am young and very experienced with reptiles and other wildlife.
