Help!!!! From what I have read about Alligator Lizards on the net, and on this forum this perticular lizard is just naturally very agressive. If you have an older lizard try getting a garderner’s glove and hold him with that instead of your bear hands, that way if he bites you won’t get hurt. I’ve heard that wild Lizards usually are never calm, I know mine isn’t. But people say if you try to hold them for about an hour a week then he / she may start to get use to you, don’t expect it to happen though. It’s very rare, specially from what I have read, in older Lizards. Usually people have a better change with younger Lizards.
Maybe try to bribe him/her with food to calm down? Though it could just bite your hand instead of the food, so only do it if you comfortable.
Sorry I couldn’t help more....
Good Luck!

Help!!!! Start taking him out every day and gently handling him for 5-10 minutes. Try to pick him up with as little chase as possible (this will just make him more stressed and scared). When handling him don’t goad him into biting the glove etc., you want him to realize he’s not in any danger and feel comfortable. Once he stops thrashing try loosening your grip and letting him walk across your hands. At the same time, start feeding him by hand in the cage. If he won’t take food from your fingers, use a pair of forceps and then gradually switch over to hand feeding. Once he starts to get calmer out of the cage being handled, start offering him his favorite prey items while you’re holding him. If you’re gentle, patient and persistent he should calm down and after a month or two most will be very tame.
