 Lighting schedule?

Should I turn off my northern als light when the sun sets or constantly leave it on?
I doubt it will get too cold, my room is way warmer than the outside temp.

I agree.
Following your local light schedule will work fine as long as you are also getting the lights on when the sun rises. If you aren’t, just do some simple math to figure out how many extra hours to leave it on or purchase a timer.
