 Need info on bought rocks

I bought a package of rocks and are supposed to be for fountains but i had an idea that i could use them for my alli’s cage so they can gain some heat. They say that they’re polished but i don’t know with what. I just want to know if they’re toxic to lizards.

Here are som pic’s

And here’s a pic of Mittledorf

Please respond
Thanks
Mike

Gorgeous southern.

River stones don’t generally hold heat well. Stones such as sandstone and quarts are must better for holding heat. Polished generally just refers to their smooth texture, which develops from years of sitting in running water(rivers). Should be safe but, you should boil them just in case there are any chemicals that may be on them.

Use gloves to pick him/her up. Always life from under the arms and make sure the tail is not caught on anything.

You should handle him/her rarely if she is showing heavy aggression or stress from your presence. Its just something the human has to get used to when owning a wild lizard and an aggressive species.

I just got bit from my alli when I scared him while basking to put him in a bath(first time bitten), it bled only a little and I washed it thoroughly with anti-bacterial soap and put some everclear on the cut(one of the most painful things ever). Too bad for me it was too little too late because now it looks like it will get infected. LOL I can laugh it off though cause it isnt that bad.

I must have thick skin. I don’t recall ever bleeding from an allie bite. Bruising, swelling, and visible marks; yes, but no bleeding. However, I do have friends that have gotten nailed pretty bad by some angry allies.

My allie has a tendancy, when he bites, to try to twist against my finger, which digs his little teeth into my skin and makes me bleed. And without fail, even though I wash my hands in hot water with antibacterial soap, the next day I have infected teeth marks on my finger. They go away after a few days and then I’m left with small scars where he bit me.
